Saturday, 13th June 2026 | Mackay Presbyterian Church Hall
At Mackay & Sarina Presbyterian Church, we want to keep growing into the kind of church family that Jesus calls us to be - a community shaped by His Word, led by servant-hearted elders, and committed to discipling the next generation.
This Equipping & Training Day is for our whole church family - not just those already serving in eldership or Next-Gen ministry. It’s an invitation to come and learn together, so that we all grow in our understanding of what the Bible says about church leadership and discipleship, and how each of us can play a part in shaping the culture of our church.
To help us in this, we’re excited to welcome two experienced workers from the Presbyterian Church of Queensland:
Stuart Hoadley, Director of CMR (Committee for Ministry Resourcing) and O&N (Outreach & Nurture), will help us think biblically about gospel-shaped church culture, eldership, and leadership in the church.
Libby Haswell, a full-time worker with the O&N ministry, will train and equip us in the vital area of Next-Gen ministry - encouraging and discipling children, youth, and young adults to follow Jesus for life.
We’ll focus on two key areas:
Biblical eldership and leadership — discovering God’s vision for elder-led churches where leaders shepherd, model, and care.
Next-Gen ministry — exploring how children, youth, and young adults can be discipled and encouraged to follow Jesus for life.
Through Bible teaching, equipping sessions, and practical discussion, we’ll be trained and encouraged to engage more deeply in each other’s lives and in the life of the church. Our prayer is that this day will help us grow into a gospel-centred, intergenerational family that doesn’t just attend together, but truly belongs together in Christ.
